The two-month AI International summer internship project (SIP) is an integral and vital part of our PGDM program. We attach a lot of importance to this mid-course internship because it helps students to gain hands-on experience, by applying their classroom learning in the real world, which is at the core of our PGDM program. The internship program is thus designed to integrate and to apply theoretical learning with a real-world application, and also provides the opportunity to the student to work on projects outside of the classroom environment. Students will be supervised by an AI faculty and by an industry mentor.
Several internship positions are paid, providing the student with some additional income. Additionally, students who successfully complete the summer internship project will be in a better position to leverage their experience to get suitably placed with corporates at the end of the second year of the PGDM program.
The AI capstone project serves as a culminating academic and practical experience for students, at the end of their PGDM program. The capstone project is intended to encourage students to use the critical thinking skills they have acquired through their PGDM program to solve real life problems. It also provides students with a real-world situation where projects usually span multiple functional areas and require team-based efforts to create a viable solution. Students will spend the last trimester in an organization of their choice, but with prior approval by an AI faculty/academic mentor. They will select a topic or problem in conjunction with the industry mentor and their academic mentor. At the end of the capstone project, the student will create a final written document demonstrating their learning acquisition and give an oral presentation on the project to a panel of AI faculty and their industry mentor collectively evaluate its quality.
In case of capstone projects too, many corporates are willing to pay stipends. Students who add value to the organizations they associate with may be offered long-term employment once they complete the capstone project.
